The Mas de la Sorgue

After spending their life managing the Tourelles Hotel-restaurant, in Baie de Somme, Brussels-born Dominique and her husband Gilles, the restaurant’s chef, wanted to be in the sun and have a more family-size place to manage. While they were on holiday in the South, they fell in love with an old silk farmhouse which they fully renovated to turn it into a guest house.

The new hosts removed old rendering to free the wall stones, and polished up the attic’s forgotten floor tiles to use them in the dining room. A different ambiance has been created in each room, furnished with souvenirs of their life in the North, objects they came across in Isle sur Sorgue and works by their artist friends. All of these details give the beautifully finished guest house a unique and welcoming atmosphere, which not only basks in the Mediterranean sunshine, but also the owners’ beaming smile.
