Domaine de Coyeux reopens

Offering electric scooter rides, a panoramic wine trail, festive events and much more, Domaine de Coyeux, at the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail, has been given a new lease of life within the Vignobles Strasser Radziwill.

Domaine de Coyeux

Those who are familiar with the Beaumes-de-Venise vineyard know that the extraordinary views of the Dentelles de Montmirail are just as spectacular as their wines. Domaine de Coyeux is no exception, with its swathes of vines which roll over the rounded hills, extending until the foot of the limestone cliffs. Created in the 70s by the Nativelle family and stretching across 120 hectares of vines and woodland in a single plot, the estate was bought in 2022 by Maisons & Vignobles Strasser-Radziwill, who also own Domaine de la Pousterle in Southern Luberon and Prieuré des Papes in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

They produce Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise naturally sweet wine, but also IGP Méditerranée reds and whites of great elegance. The vineyard’s altitude (300m) and their organic production methods, as well as the exceptional Triassic terroir that has made this wine-growing region so famous and the preference of the Strasser couple and of Christian, their oenologist, for mineral wines, have already produced cuvées that are surprisingly balanced and velvety.

The cellar

From the summer of 2024, visitors will be welcomed in a new cellar with windows that open out onto the surrounding countryside.

Its contemporary design, blonde wood furniture and light-filled rooms make tasting a pleasure for all the senses. All of the Strasser-Radziwill group’s wines will be on offer, with around twenty in total, including those of the Moulin Blanc estate in Tavel.

Wine tourism activities

This exceptional natural setting lends itself particularly well to the wine tourism activities that have been devised: a stroll along the wine trail to get a feel for the terroirs and landscapes (around 30 minutes, map available from reception), guided tour on an all-terrain electric scooter to discover the incredible views that open out beyond each fold of land (around 1.5 hours, €69 per pers.) or quad bike excursion to explore the steep paths overlooking the property (price according to the route). Naturally, all these activities end with a tasting of the estate’s wines.

Those looking for a less sporty, more informative way of discovering the vineyards can opt for a guided tour of the neighbouring rows of vines and of the wine-making cellars, followed by a guided tasting of the estate’s wines (€20 to €25 per pers.).

Summer evenings with DJ set

From 5 July and every Friday evening in July and August, epicureans can enjoy this unique setting with an evening of food and music with a DJ (“Nouba dans les Dentelles”), discovering the wines of Domaine de Coyeux over a platter of charcuterie and cheeses on a fine summer evening (prices vary, wine by the glass and platters – from 7pm). What’s more, a symphony concert with the Orchestre National d’Avignon is scheduled for September … date to be announced!
