All-terrain electric scooter rides on the Mont Ventoux

In Mormoiron, at the foot of Mont Ventoux, Vaucluse’s mountain biking champion Mosso has come up with the idea of exploring the area on rather strange machines – electric scooters the same size as a bike with all-terrain tyres, perfect for discovering the Ventoux.

You’ve heard of city scooters; now get ready for the off-road scooter…

Dead quiet, it requires no effort aside from good balance on the legs, and provides exhilarating gliding sensations – this all-terrain electric scooter is made for the Giant of Provence!

Good to know

Complete with an aluminium frame, hydraulic disk brakes and front and rear suspension, the scooters also have a battery life that keeps them going for around 2.5 hours.

Rides

Several scooter ride options are possible (discounts for groups of more than 6 people):

Guided scooter rides (1 to 2 hours):
Depending on your level and your aim (beautiful scenery or sporty adventure), choose the type of scooter ride that suits you and head out with your guide, a qualified mountain biking specialist. After a little bit of time to practise and get used to the scooters, enjoy vast panoramas from the slopes of Mont Ventoux or the colourful ochre paths. The scooter ride includes several educational stops, when the guide will tell you all about the flora, fauna and landscapes of the Ventoux.
Rate: €30 per person for 1 hour / €40 for 1.5 hours / €50 for 2 hours.

Hire a ‘Troteecime’ scooter on specially designed trails:
After getting used to the machine with the help of an instructor, beginners can have a go on the flat track while the more seasoned scooter riders will head for the bumpy track, BMX style.
Rate: €12 for 20 minutes, €20 for 40 minutes.

Descend Mont Ventoux (3 hours):
This option is reserved for scooter experts. As part of a small group, you will be taken by minibus from Mormoiron up to Chalet Reynard. From there, scooter down to the hamlet of Sainte-Colombe along an enduro track marked out by the FFC (French Cycling Federation), via fun single tracks and some faster sections on a wide trail. Then, go through the combe de Canaud and take pathways through ochre landscapes to get back to Mormoiron, where you started.

Scooter rides are open to all all year round, for those aged 8 or more.

For the little ones, family rides are possible with children’s trailers.

For groups of up to 10 people – or 30 with prior reservation.
