Between cabin and château: 5 top accommodation choices around Ventoux !

A cabin with a panoramic view at the summit of Ventoux, an 18th-century chateau in the middle of a large park, a bed and breakfast run by a shepherd… it’s impossible not to find the perfect place for you!

The cabins of Camping du Mont Serein

All around the year, the Mont Serein campsite, right at the top of Ventoux, offers cabins and chalets, some of which have a panoramic view of the Vercors Massif and the Alps. Ideal for testing the “dévalkart” or “tubing” at the Mont Serein resort in summer, taking a walk in snowshoes in winter, exploring the woods to hear the bellowing of the stag in autumn, or simply gazing at the wide open spaces from the terrace.

Prices:

Chalets with panoramic views for 2-5 people from €200/ 2 nights, “pod” chalet for 2 people from €65/ night

Entering this 18th-century château, built by the great Provençale Isnard family, is like stepping into in a fairy tale: vast bedrooms and lounges with wood panelling, black and white tiles in the corridor or glazed floor tiles in the bedrooms, an immense terrace with views over the property, groves all around where you could expect to find Sleeping Beauty, and charming annexes which are scattered among the woodland trees and can be reached by golf buggy. The ideal base from which to explore the Comtat Vanaissin area.

The Viguier farm: stay with a shepherd and truffle hunter

In this village with only 380 inhabitants, nestled up against the side of the mountain and surrounded by lavender fields, agritourism has found its ideal home at the Viguier farm. The Giardini family is dedicated to the breeding of sheep and truffle growing, and offers visitors 5 spacious guest rooms (from 2 to 5 people, from €65/ night), the ‘table d’hôtes’ where you can taste the produce of the farm (€20/pers.) and a gite (3 pers.). Winter truffle stays can be booked in advance, and include overnight, truffle hunting with Mr Giardini and his dog, and a truffle-based evening meal straight out of the oven, cooked by his wife Mugette (€225/ 2 pers.).

Here is a hotel as we like it: Provençal charm without sacrificing comfort, an ideal location at the foot of the Ventoux, the sincere and warm hospitality of Johanna, who has been knocking about in the hotel industry for 40 years, 30 of which have been spent in Vaucluse, and a true sense of service.
All for a very reasonable price. And if you feel like it, you can get on your bike and start your ascent of the legendary Mont Ventoux directly from Bedoin (if necessary by renting an electric bike from right next door).
